The complex work of one of the most renowned German photographers is to be discovered. The exhibition is the third station of a cooperation between the Museum der Bildenden Künste Leipzig and the Sprengel Museum Hanover.
(c) Timm Rautert

TIMM RAUTERT was born in 1941. He was pupil of Otto Steinert at the Folkwang School in Essen. From 1970 onwards he worked as a photojournalist for numerous magazines such as the ZEITmagazin.

From 1993 to 2007 he was a professor for photography at the Leipzig Academy for Book Design and Graphic Arts in Leipzig.

In his series he shows the changes in the world of work or religious groups like the Hutterer and the Amish or creates portraits of artists as Andy Warhol, Gerhard Richter and Joseph Beuys.
